Chelsea appear to have one Premier League team to which they can loan one of their players this month.
After a dismal loan spell at Nottingham Forest this season, Andrey Santos is almost expected to return to Chelsea. So far, the midfielder has only made one appearance in the Premier League.
Newcastle United are now interested in him, according to journalist Ben Jacobs. In his piece for Si Phillips Talks Chelsea, he stated, “I am told Newcastle have enquired about Santos.”
It’s unclear how responsive Chelsea were to the inquiry, but it’s evident that Santos needs to leave Forest and either stay at Stamford Bridge or join another team.
He squandered a half-season there, but at 19, he still has a great future.

This is why bringing in Santos, a Brazilian international, makes sense.
The Magpies, on the other hand, are only one spot above Chelsea in the Premier League table. They are rivals, so would the latter really allow him to join the former? Let us not forget that Mauricio Pochettino’s side has also experienced an injury crisis this season, with Romeo Lavia still struggling with fitness. They might benefit from keeping the £18 million man (Daily Mail) around.
The most crucial thing, once again, is that he returns from the Forest. It’s pretty sad for a guy of his caliber not to have even started one league game.
Chelsea must consider carefully about where they loan their players out. What happened to Santos is not acceptable.
