
Not even two days ago, Mark Pope appeared to be on the brink of landing yet another top-tier prospect. International star forward Nikola Kusturica was given a crystal ball to Kentucky by the generally reliable Travis Branham, and the Big Blue Nation dropped the disco ball.
And then, in an unceremonious, even ominous post, Branham removed it. No prediction exists now for Kusturica and, as of now, the race against other schools appears very much still on. What gives?

This sudden change of pace is especially jarring given that Jeff Goodman’s seeming confirmation that the Cats led this recruitment, just yesterday on The Field of 68, saying “…Kentucky is the clear favorite at this point.”Whatever is going on behind the scenes, much like the Rob Wright scenario from earlier this offseason, it’s too complicated to qualify that way. The majority of this situation has yet to unfold.
