The Padres return to Petco Park having accomplished a few goals during their mini road trip to Coors Field.
Although the losing streak hit five games, the skid was snapped on Saturday, the series was clinched on Sunday and the Padres picked up a game on the Dodgers in the NL West and improved their wild-card standing. It was their first series win since taking two of three from the Dodgers at Petco Park toward the end of August.
“The last few days have been good, clean, crisp, well-played baseball games,” Shildt said. “Put it together on all sides, all facets, taking a series, getting back to doing that because that’s what this is going to be about — winning series.”
