Keion White recorded 2.5 sacks and three quarterback hits. The Cincinnati Bengals began their season with three straight three-and-outs. At one point, they had allowed more sacks than they had earned first downs. In the first half alone, they conceded two sacks and three additional quarterback hits, one of which caused a fumble that Joe Burrow was lucky to recover.
Keion White was the main issue for the Bengals’ offensive line. The second-year defensive end, known for causing problems, lived up to that reputation and significantly disrupted Cincinnati’s offense.
The Bengals face a challenging path ahead, with several formidable and seasoned pass rushers awaiting them. Keion White delivered the best performance of his career against what was expected to be an improved offensive line. With Chris Jones on the horizon for their next game, the coaching staff and players have a lot to address this week.
Scoring only 10 points total, the Bengals went into halftime scoreless, and the initial excitement from the fans gradually dissipated. The team struggled to secure a first down at the start, and when they finally began to make progress, they suffered two crucial turnovers. In the first half, their four drives resulted in a punt, another punt, yet another punt, and a fumble at the goal line—clearly not an ideal scenario. Zac Taylor’s team continues to struggle with slow starts.
The Bengals managed to score ten points in the second half, making the game more competitive. However, their offense never looked like a serious threat to secure a game-winning touchdown, even though the defense restricted the Patriots to just 16 points. The Bengals were among five teams that scored ten points or fewer this weekend, and all five of those teams lost their games.
