AC Milan are expected to sign Juan Miranda in January, prompting Real Betis to look for a replacement in the market. According to recent reports, Aston Villa’s Lex Moreno could be a candidate.
Estadio Deportivo relayed this and shared the La Liga club’s stance on bringing the 30-year-old back to the club.
The left-back spent three years at Real Betis before joining Aston Villa at the start of the season.
Moreno is said to speak’regularly’ with his former teammates and club executives, but has yet to receive a call from the Spanish club. As it stands, his name is not on the table at Real Betis, and the defender has also not asked to leave Aston Villa.
A thigh injury forced Moreno to spend several months on the sidelines before he made his first appearance of the season at the end of November.
Speaking to Jijantes FC’s Gerard Romero, relayed by Estadio Deportivo, the fullback has hinted he could return to Real Betis in the future.

“Well, it’s true that I receive a lot of messages from Beticos. I want to thank all the Beticos who continue to send me messages. I have been noticing their affection,” he said.
“Every time I go to Seville, the people stop me. I’m sure that in the future we will see each other again. When? I don’t know but I’m sure that in the future we will see each other again.”
Estadio Deportivo states Moreno’s return to Real Betis ‘will not be now’ because he has a deal at Aston Villa until 2026.
