We predict David Moyes makes one big West Ham United change for Man City after a decision over Edson Alvarez.

West Ham boss David Moyes has been absolutely raving about summer signing Edson Alvarez ahead of the game against Manchester City.

But the Scot has also admitted his new midfield enforcer might be a doubt for Man City after a delayed return and 10,000 mile round-trip following international duty with Mexico.

Alvarez has only been back in the country for just over 36 hours whereas Tomas Soucek has been training with West Ham all week having concluded his Czech Republic duty last Sunday night.

Team shape, organisation and every player knowing their job – and which players they are picking up – is more imperative against Man City than perhaps any other side.

Moyes will have been working on that and his defensive rotations all week with the majority of his starting XI while Alvarez was absent.

Another player whose place is under threat is Said Benrahma with the Algerian dropped recently to accommodate Soucek and Alvarez in the same side along with Lucas Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse.

Alvarez AND Soucek in as Moyes look to stop City’s stars with Benrahma making way?
We predict Moyes makes one big West Ham change for Man City after an Alvarez decision.

We reckon the Hammers boss will start Alvarez after singing his praises. But we also think Soucek will start in place of Benrahma.

That will be the only change from the side which beat Luton – when Soucek was unavailable due to concussion protocols.

That means Paqueta – who it was revealed this week has won more possession than any other player in Europe’s top SEVEN league this season – may play over to the left hand-side.

Predicted West Ham starting XI to face Man City:

Areola, Coufal, Zouma, Aguerd, Emerson, Soucek, Alvarez, Ward-Prowse, Paqueta, Bowen, Antonio.
