Bad news for key Newcastle United  Players Nightmare & Minteh Takes The Mickey – Loan Watch

It’s been an eventful week for the Newcastle United players currently away on loan, featuring a first league goal, a 5-0 hammering, a fresh injury blow and half-time substitution.

Here’s a round-up of all of the above, starting with Yankuba Minteh’s ice-cool finish and loads more:

Yankuba Minteh (Feyenoord) – Came off the bench to score his first Eredivisie goal in Sunday’s 5-1 win over Utrecht. Watch the goal below, seeing him go beyond the keeper AND the recovering defender!

Garang Kuol (Volendam) – Made his first start for the Eredivisie side and played 80 minutes, but fell to a 2-0 defeat to FC Twente. Volendam have lost all three of their opening league games, but hopefully he can keep his place in their starting 11 after struggling for minutes.

Harrison Ashby (Swansea) – Has started all five of their Championship games, grabbing an assist against Coventry and scoring at Preston, but he was hooked at half-time in Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Bristol City. Swansea sit third bottom after a winless start, so let’s hope he keeps his place.

Ryan Fraser (Southampton) – Endured an embarrassing return to the North East as the Saints were beaten 5-0 at Sunderland on Saturday lunchtime. Came on at half-time (3-0 down) but thinks didn’t get much better after the break.

Jamal Lewis (Watford) – Sealed a loan move to Watford in July but hasn’t featured in any of their matchday squads after suffering another injury setback. After a tough few years, I really hope he can get fit, force his way into their team and build some confidence.

Jay Turner-Cooke (St Johnstone) – Fresh from a 0-0 draw with Celtic, he was handed another start as St Johnstone drew 2-2 with Dundee. Good to see him getting immediate game time.

Max Thompson (Northampton) – The England youth stopper had kept back-to-back clean sheets with the League One side, but fell to a 1-0 defeat to Wycombe on Saturday.

Matthew Bondswell (Newport) – An unused substitute for the second week running as Newport drew 2-2 with Wimbledon.

Joe White (Crewe) – Came off the bench for the final 30 minutes in Crewe’s 3-1 win over MK Dons in League Two.
