DONE DEAL ANOTHER : As the champion suggests a club,23 years old Turkish gives a suggestion about Leicester City’s long-term future.

The 23-year-old winger has become City’s seventh arrival of the summer transfer window, joining on an initial season-long loan from Turkish champions Galatasaray

Yunus Akgun may only have joined Leicester City on loan but he’s already looking ahead to a long-term future at the club, with the new winger declaring his ambitions to win trophies.

Turkish international Akgun has joined on an initial season-long loan from Galatasaray and will be a new contender to start for Enzo Maresca’s side on the right wing.

Having won the Turkish Super Lig with his parent club last season, he knows what glory feels like, and he’s hoping to lift more silverware with City.

“I’m so excited to be here,” he told the club. “When I arrived, the way I was greeted by the club and the staff here, they were all very friendly, the people were lovely to me, so I’m very happy to be here and I’m so happy that I made the right decision.

“I’m excited to get on that pitch and meet with the supporters. I’m going to do my best to do well for the club and grow physically and mentally and be consistent. I’m hoping to have a great season ahead.

“Leicester has done it before; they’ve won the Premier League. Now my first aim is obviously to help my team-mates here and win the league first and then win other trophies. That’s what I want to do and I can’t wait.”

Akgun will be the fourth Turkish international to play for City, following in the footsteps of legendary midfielder Muzzy Izzet and FA Cup winners Caglar Soyuncu and Cengiz Under. But it was a Premier League title-winner in Gokhan Inler who was able to recommend City, the Swiss midfielder featuring 10 times for the club in 2015-16.

“Once I found out that Leicester City was interested, me and my manager said: ‘Let’s go for it,’ because I’ve heard so much about Leicester City,” Akgun added.
