In one of the most thrilling games of the NCAA Tournament so far, the No. 7 Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketballoutlasted the No. 10 Santa Clara Broncos men’s basketball, 89-84, after a game-tying shot from just beyond half court by Otega Oweh at the buzzer sent the game to overtime. In the extra period, it was all Wildcats on both ends of the floor. Kentucky continued to lean on Oweh, who finished with a game-high 35 points in 43 minutes, adding eight rebounds and seven assists while shooting 11-for-24 from the field and 3-for-8 from beyond the arc. “That was probably the best one yet,” Oweh said when asked if it was the best game he’s been a part of. “That’s what March is, though. All the best games happen at this time of year, and it was a blast. I’m just glad we were able to pull it out.” When asked about the buzzer-beater that forced overtime, he added, “I was just trying to get as close as I could to make the shot, and I don’t know, it just went in. It’s March Madness – that’s the type of vibe it is, I ain’t gonna lie.”
