Darren Moore is certain that two striker acquisition would be a “wonderful addition” for Huddersfield Town.

The Terriers boss has given several different forward lines a go as he tries to find the right solution to the Terriers’ lack of goals from forward positions this season.

Darren Moore, the manager of the Terriers, confesses that he is eager to see what Danny Ward, who has been out with an Achilles injury, can provide to the front line.

The Huddersfield Town striker, who was a favorite of Moore’s predecessor Neil Warnock, has not been able to play since making his debut against West Bromwich Albion on September 2, just before the previous international break.

As a result, Delano Burgzorg, Josh Koroma, Sorba Thomas, Kian Harratt, and Kyle Hudlin have all appeared in at least part of the last four games as the number 9 player, forcing Moore to consider a shifting cast of possibilities at center forward.

Burgzorg’s opener against Ipswich Town is the only goal the five have managed between them in that time, however, prompting concerns as to whether Town are lacking an established out-and-out striker.

Moore conceded:“You could say that and look to Wardy. He’s on his way back and we’d welcome when he gets back. That will be a wonderful addition, and add us one – but in terms of the boys that have played up there, they’ve done well. Josh has done well, Dell has fashioned a couple of goals up there.

“So we’ll continue to work to have Wardy back. He’d be a wonderful addition and a boosy and hopefully in these next couple of weeks his injury can settle down and he can start to make progress in terms of getting back.”

Moore was able to welcome Jonathan Hogg back from a calf injury for the trip to face Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend, but remained without fellow midfielder David Kasumu, who is out with a hamstring injury, and lost defender Josh Ruffels to injury midway through the game once again.
Asked about the latter’s condition, Moore said: “Josh has just consistently had a little niggle in and around his groin area. We’ll use these two weeks to get on top of that and settle that down.”

Right-back Tom Edwards meanwhile made his first start since August, with Moore saying: “We’ve got Tom Edwards going as well really, I’m really pleased with him. He had 30 minutes in mid-week [against Birmingham] and then has got another 65 minutes today. He’s building his fitness and I’m really pleased to see him back on the pitch and get Sorba Thomas pitch where he can be more threatening.”

Ollie Turton is Town’s only other injury absentee at present, with the right-back tentatively pencilled in to return from his anterior cruciate ligament injury around the turn of the new year.
