BREAKING: Phillies Announces Announces Star Massive 2-Years $164 Million New Deal Contract Deal

Phillies $164 Million Star Projected To Bolt For Deal With AL Contender

The Philadelphia Phillies had an overall good season in 2025, but now their MVP runner-up, Kyle Schwarber, is hitting free agency. So, the Phillies have an arduous offseason ahead of them.

Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller believes that while it’s likely that Schwarber will remain in Philly, looking at potential replacements wouldn’t hurt. The top replacement he thinks the Phillies should look at is New York Mets All-Star Pete Alonso.

“How do you replace one of the four most frequent sources of home runs in all of baseball over the past four years? By signing one of the other members of that quartet, of course. If the Phillies were to sign Alonso, they could move Bryce Harper back to right field and mercifully be done with Nick Castellanos’ glove. (If they keep Castellanos in 2026, at all.),” Miller wrote.

This past season, Alonso slashed .272/.347/.524/.871 with 41 doubles, 38 home runs, and 126 RBI in 162 games played. He would be the perfect sidegrade to Schwarber, as he can play the field and gets almost the same amount of RBI as Schwarber.

Hopefully, the Phillies are able to retain their core, including Schwarber. However, if they can’t, getting someone like Alonso on a long-term deal would be a perfect rebound move.
