BREAKING DONE DEAL: Kentucky Wildcats Coach Officially Announced The Signing Of Another Top Experienced Star To Blockbuster Deal

The transfer portal remains a hotbed of player movement, and one of the most in-demand names this cycle is Jaron Pierre Jr., a guard from Jacksonville State.

CBS Sports Insider Jon Rothstein reports that Pierre is currently visiting SMU and has plans to meet with Ole Miss and Kentucky soon.

Pierre, a 6-foot-5, 188-pound guard from New Orleans, had an impressive season with Jacksonville State, quickly emerging as one of the top scorers in Conference USA. His 21.6 points per game led the conference, and his shooting efficiency made him a major offensive threat.

Pierre shot 42.4% from the field and a strong 38% from beyond the arc, demonstrating his scoring ability at all levels. In addition to his scoring, he averaged 5.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game, showcasing his all-around skill set.

His standout season earned him Conference USA Player of the Year honors, solidifying his status as one of the top mid-major players in the country. As high-major programs seek proven scorers, Pierre has become a highly sought-after target in the transfer portal.

Tristan Pharis reports that Kentucky reached out to Pierre earlier this week as part of their roster retooling under Mark Pope. The Wildcats are in need of scoring guards, and Pierre’s ability to rack up points makes him an ideal addition. Kentucky has already added Kam Williams through the portal, but adding another dynamic guard like Pierre could strengthen their backcourt further.

Pierre is also drawing interest from Ole Miss, which is looking to continue its progress under Chris Beard, and SMU, which is aggressively building its roster ahead of its move to the ACC.

What’s Next for Pierre?

With several high-major programs pursuing him, Pierre will take his time to consider his options. His ability to score at a high level, combined with his size and versatility, makes him an asset for any program seeking an experienced offensive weapon.

As SMU, Ole Miss, and Kentucky continue their recruitment efforts, Pierre’s decision will be one to follow closely in the coming weeks. Whether he lands in the SEC, ACC, or elsewhere, one thing is clear—his impact at the next level will be significant.
