Just In: Yankees To Pay $260 Million All-Star In Blockbuster Trade

The St. Louis Cardinals are allegedly seeking to trade third baseman Nolan Arenado this year. Arenado has a lot of money tied to his contract, as well as a no-trade clause, which is evidently making it pretty tough to deal him away. Either way, it’s probable the Cardinals will increase their willingness to send him away as the season goes by.
Jared Bloom of Sportskeeda recently projected the New York Yankees will be the team to eventually land Arenado, despite not being on his list of desired destinations yet. “The St. Louis Cardinals have spent the MLB offseason looking for suitors for Nolan Arenado,” Bloom wrote.
“They are hoping to clear up some space and focus on their younger players. The New York Yankees may come into play as a trade partner.
They have a void at third base, and Arenado would be a terrific addition as the team attempts to hoist their 28th MLB World Series crown.”
According to reports, the Yankees have been after Arenado for a while, and it makes perfect sense. Arenado would significantly fill the infield, which is New York’s largest hole. He remains one of the greatest infield defenders in the history of the game,

despite a small decline in his bat. It would be quite beneficial to have a solid glove to lead the defense with Anthony Volpe on the left side of the infield. Arenado’s bat would also be a great addition to the middle of the lineup. It may not be the most likely scenario, but Arenado would have to clear a trade to the Yankees.
