The Chicago Bulls are not expected to be competitive next season as they undergo a full rebuild, having parted ways with DeMar DeRozan and Alex Caruso over the offseason. There are also rumors that the Bulls might consider trading Zach LaVine, though nothing substantial has come of it yet. Meanwhile, the Bulls appear to be adding a new player to their roster: former Los Angeles Lakers and Utah Jazz guard Talen Horton-Tucker. According to Shams Charania on X, Horton-Tucker has signed a partially guaranteed contract with the Bulls.
Horton-Tucker began his NBA career with the Lakers, averaging 10.0 points and 25.2 minutes per game during the 2021-22 season, including 19 starts. He was traded to the Jazz in 2022 as part of the Patrick Beverley deal and spent the next two seasons there, posting similar numbers. At just 23 years old, Horton-Tucker is now joining his third team. He could be a valuable addition to the Bulls, offering versatility as he can play both guard positions and is a capable scorer. However, he will need to improve his defense and three-point shooting, which peaked at 33% last season.
