BREAKING DONE DEAL: Phillies complete The Signing Of Another Slugger To 4-Year, $128 Million Deal
The Philadelphia Phillies have one of the best rosters in baseball, but they continue to fall short of the ultimate goal of winning the World Series. They fell short of the ultimate goal again this season, and they’re also set to lose Kyle Schwarber in free agency unless they’re willing to give him a huge deal.
Schwarber is likely going to sign for well over $100 million despite being a designated hitter. The Phillies need to do whatever they can to bring him back while adding other talent alongside him.
Just Baseball’s Ryan Finkelstein recently predicted Schwarber would sign a four-year, $128 million deal to remain with the Phillies.
The Phillies are entering this offseason with their top priority being to bring Schwarber back, and rightfully so,” Finkelstein wrote. “There is every chance Schwarber could leverage a career-year in 2025 into a contract that is even longer than his last deal, as their is a world where Schwarber gets five or six years.”

The Phillies need to make sure they bring Schwarber back going forward. He’s been a crucial piece of the team for the last few seasons, and they’d take a huge hit if he walks in free agency.

The projected deal might seem steep for a designated hitter, but Schwarber is one of the best power hitters in baseball. He’s a top player in the league and is likely going to finish second place in NL MVP voting this season. Getting him back in Philadelphia is a necessary move for the Phillies to make.
