West Brom have the chance to bring in some new faces when the January transfer window opens for business
West Brom turned to Ryan Mason as their new head coach over the summer. He was handed a three-year deal at The Hawthorns running until 2028. The 34-year-old was picked as their replacement for Tony Mowbray and left his role in the backroom staff team at Tottenham Hotspur to take his first number one managerial role in the game.
The Midlands outfit missed out on the play-offs last season and are hoping to get into the top six this time around if possible. They return to league action now after the international. In the meantime, here is a look at how their line-up could look after January if they get all their targets….
West Brom’s new goalkeeper and defence if January deals go through
GK – Josh Griffiths: He has been West Brom’s number one so far this season. The stopper has risen up through their academy ranks and has now stepped up to the plate. Joe Wildsmith provides strong back-up from the bench.
RB – George Campbell: The Baggies forked out a fee in the region of £1.5million to snap up the defender this past summer. He left CF Montreal in MLS to move to take on a new challenge. The American has since adapted well to life in England.
CB – Filip Beckman: He was linked with a move to Mason’s side along with fellow second tier side Blackburn Rovers in the last transfer window. The 22-year-old, who plays for GAIS, stayed put beyond the deadline.
CB – Chris Mepham: West Brom paid £1million to snap up the centre-back from AFC Bournemouth. He helped Sunderland go up in the last campaign during his loan spell at the Stadium of Light. Mepham has formed a solid partnership at the back with Nat Phillips.
