Breaking: Cooper Flagg Make Big Announcement Regarding his Brother And Confirm He Will Join Duke Blue Devils Basketball For 2025

Two weeks ago, former Duke Blue Devils star Cooper Flagg was selected No. 1 overall by the Dallas Mavericks—something that felt like a near certainty for most of his record-breaking freshman season in Durham.

Now, on Thursday, he’s set to make his highly anticipated Summer League debut as the Mavericks take on the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas. The matchup is expected to be played in front of a sold-out crowd, with ticket prices among the highest ever for a Summer League game.

Flagg’s journey to the NBA has been both rare and historic. He became just the second player ever drafted to the NBA out of the state of Maine. Alongside his parents and brothers, he hails from the small New England town of Newport—a place he’s proudly embraced as part of his identity.

Now, he’s continuing to give back. On Wednesday, Flagg announced—alongside his brother Ace, who is set to play for the Maine Black Bears this year—that the two will be teaming up to host their second annual basketball camp on Aug 9 and 10 at the University of Maine, just a short drive from their hometown.

“I was so ready to sign my son up when i realized the ages !!!! Super cool and Congratulations my son and I are big fans!!!” One more fan commented.

The two-day event will feature two three-hour sessions each day and is open to boys and girls entering first through sixth grade.

“Throughout the two-day camp, Cooper and Ace Flagg, along with our coaches, will offer tips and hands-on instruction—including lectures, fundamental basketball skill stations, contests, and non-contact games—in a high-energy, fun, and positive environment,” ProCamps wrote.
