West Brom urged to complete ‘magnificent’ transfer for dazzling £49.5m attacking midfielder in his prime
The Baggies have picked the former Premier League midfielder as their replacement for Tony Mowbray. He has spent the past couple of years as a coach at Tottenham Hotspur. The ex-Hull City man has now landed his first number one managerial role in the game and will be eager to show what he can do at The Hawthorns.
West Brom have been urged to pursue a deal for AFC Bournemouth winger David Brooks. He has been linked with a move to the Baggies recently. The attacker spent time away on loan at Southampton in 2024.
Goodman has said, as per a report by Football League World: “I’m thinking if West Bromwich Albion could potentially get David Brooks through the door, he could prove to be one of the best signings that they’ve made in recent years to be honest with you.

were rare for him, he only started nine matches of the 29 matches he played for Bournemouth in the Premier League last season, scored a couple of goals. But he was a standout when he went out on loan to Southampton, where he helped them get promoted to the Premier League. For West Brom, he would be a real coup.”
Would David Brooks suit West Brom?
West Brom could see Brooks as someone to boost their attacking ranks. If they signed him, he would give them more competition and depth at the top end of the pitch. He would also inject some serious quality into their ranks.
The Wales international, who has 35 caps under his belt, was on the books at Manchester City as a youngster. He then crossed the Pennines to join Sheffield United. The Warrington-born man then rose up through the academy ranks of the Blades and was a regular for them at various different youth levels.
Brooks was loaned out to FC Halifax Town in non-league as a teenager to get some experience. Upon his return to South Yorkshire, he broke into the first-team at Bramall Lane under the guidance of Chris Wilder. He went on to play 37 matches and scored three goals before Bournemouth swooped in for £11.5million.
He has since gone on to feature on 147 occasions for the Cherries over the last seven years and has found the net on 22 occasions. The forward fell down the pecking order last year, hence why he was shipped out to Southampton to get some minutes, but he has since got back into the picture in Dorset. His current club now have a big decision to make on what to do with him next in this window. If he were to be made available, Goodman believes he would be ideal for West Brom.
