**Liverpool Defender Nat Phillips Drawing Championship Interest Ahead of Likely Departure**
Liverpool centre-back Nat Phillips is once again a subject of summer transfer speculation, with *The Athletic* reporting that several Championship sides have expressed “strong interest” in signing the 28-year-old. Among the most prominent suitors are West Bromwich Albion and Derby County, the latter eager to bring him back after a successful loan spell last season.
Contrary to some reports indicating Phillips would be out of contract on July 1, he remains tied to Liverpool until 2026. However, with no role under new manager Arne Slot, who is shaping his squad following a Premier League-winning campaign, the club is expected to approve a permanent move for the defender.
Phillips’ reputation in the Championship remains strong after a standout year at Derby, where manager John Eustace made no secret of his desire to keep the player, stating plainly: “We’d like to keep him for sure.”
West Brom appear particularly keen on securing Phillips’ services. After finishing ninth in the previous campaign, the club has brought in Ryan Mason to lead a renewed promotion push. With Semi Ajayi departing and defensive reinforcements a key priority, Phillips has emerged as a top target for the Baggies.
