
Chelsea step up for impressive signing in ‘last few hours’ – Blues held further talks, club ‘not ruling out’ sale For Top Star
Chelsea are keen on signing Eintracht Frankfurt star Hugo Ekitiké this summer.
Last Thursday, we covered claims from France that the Blues have identified the striker as their priority target. It was also stated Chelsea are set to have a meeting and there’s good chance for him to join them.
Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to report that Chelsea are still active in the race to sign Ekitiké.
He states the west London club have held further talks, but there are other clubs [details aren’t mentioned].
The Bundesliga club are ‘not ruling out’ selling the 22-year-old in this window. According to Plettenberg, they want an overall package of €100m which Eintracht Frankfurt haven’t received so far.
Over at L’Equipe, they provide a short update on the UEFA Conference League winners’ efforts to sign the frontman. He’s been forced to withdraw from the France U21 squad due to a back pain.
The report states Ekitiké can consider his future while working on his recovery. They add Chelsea have taken advantage of his injury blow and ‘stepped up their efforts in the last few hours’.
Ekitiké managed 22 goals and 12 assists from 48 games for Eintracht Frankfurt this seaosn.
More developments are expected in Chelsea’s pursuit of the Frenchman.
