Breaking News: Green Bay Packers Matt LaFleur Officially Confirm Another Top Signing Of All-Pro Player To Squad
The Green Bay Packers utilized their top choices in the 2025 NFL Draft to enhance their offense. While the strategy with wide receiver Matthew Golden has been evident, there’s been more doubt around second-round selection Anthony Belton until recently.

According to Jason Wilde of WISC-TV, the Packers are likely to stress flexibility with Belton by having him work at both right tackle and guard this summer. It will continue the team’s long-standing practice of converting offensive linemen to different positions.

According to Pro Football Focus, Belton played 731 snaps at left tackle last season and 2,218 snaps in the previous three seasons for the North Carolina State Wolfpack. In comparison, he only played 11 plays at right tackle and 0 snaps at guard during his NC State career.

While Belton is a solid athlete for his stature (6-foot-6, 335 pounds), he lacks the feet and agility to play left tackle in the NFL. However, with proper growth and coaching, he has the potential to become a starter right tackle in Green Bay.

While the Packers will give him some reps at right tackle at minicamp and training camp, this might just be to make him more adaptable. Zach Tom, the 140th overall choice in the 2022 NFL Draft, is one of the league’s greatest right tackles and a strong contender for a contract extension before it expires in 2026.

Green Bay also secured one guard slot this summer with the acquisition of Aaron Banks, demonstrating its confidence in him by paying him one of the highest-paid NFL players at his position. That leaves one starting place vacant, with Belton competing with 2024 first-round selection Jordan Morgan and last year’s starter Sean Rhyan for a spot on the inside.

Ultimately, the Packers offensive line in 2025 might include Rasheed Walker (left tackle), Banks (left guard), Elgton Jenkins (center), and Tom (right tackle), with Morgan and Belton dividing plays at right guard. Morgan may potentially replace Walker at left tackle, allowing Belton to take over as the full-time starting at right guard.
