The New York Giants have been waiting for Jalin Hyatt to breakout since trading up to pick him in the third round in 2023.
However, Hyatt has been waiting for the Giants to give him a meaningful shot to break out since his rookie season.
Now that he’s in his third year, Hyatt feels he’s ready to take that next step.
Jalin Hyatt and Russell Wilson might begin creating a partnership during OTAs.
During his introduction news conference, new Giants quarterback Russell Wilson expressed excitement about Hyatt, claiming the 23-year-old had “untapped” potential.

Hyatt showed some potential as a rookie, with 23 catches for 373 yards that season. However, he was eased out of the offense in 2024, with only eight catches for 62 yards.
The Giants will begin OTAs on Tuesday, providing Hyatt and Wilson the opportunity to bond during real repetitions in practice.
Hyatt selected a player to watch during OTAs
Giants.com’s Matt Citak named Hyatt a player to watch at OTAs.
“Hyatt is the player that likely has the most to gain during these spring practices… Hyatt might be one of the greatest benefactors of Wilson’s legendary moonball, which could be on full show as early as next week.”

Wilson launched 50 throws 20 yards or more downfield in 2024, completing 27 (54.0%) for 851 yards and eight touchdowns with two interceptions in just 11 starts.
The OTAs will be the first of many opportunities for Hyatt to get some deep shots from Wilson. Perhaps they can establish synergy early in the process and sustain it throughout the season.
