Football fans are in for a holiday treat as the NFL has scheduled a marquee rivalry game for Christmas night.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs will host the Denver Broncos on December 25 in a primetime showdown, set to air on Prime Video.
The Chiefs, who reached their third straight Super Bowl last season but fell to the Philadelphia Eagles 40–22 in Super Bowl LIX, are once again poised for multiple primetime appearances in 2025.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes will have an upgraded arsenal this season. Star tight end Travis Kelce returns, Rashee Rice is expected back from a knee injury, second-year receiver Xavier Worthy continues to develop, and Hollywood Brown looks to make a bigger impact after an injury-shortened debut season in Kansas City.
Meanwhile, the Broncos head into their second season with Bo Nix at quarterback. The 2024 rookie surpassed expectations with 3,775 passing yards, 29 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Denver finished 10–7 and made the playoffs, though their run ended in a 31–7 blowout by the Buffalo Bills in the wild card round.
With both teams expected to be in the AFC playoff mix, this Christmas night clash could have major postseason implications.
